Retirement Income Planning after the SECURE Act
The SECURE Act significantly impacts advisors who serve mass affluent clients in retirement transition and beyond. Well-funded clients will be able to retain greater amounts in IRA accounts, but is that the best choice? Clients who planned for their beneficiaries to "stretch" their IRAs will need to reconsider that strategy and compare alternatives such as Roth conversions and life insurance. Advisors who understand these changes will be able to better answer questions and create opportunities for both their clients and their business.
